This time, Austria was in the focus of INTERFORST.
There were several events and lectures related to Austria, with much on the Thursday, the Ländertag Austria, concentrated.

    Comparative competition of various national teams, among others from Germany, Austria and Switzerland


  • Opening Talk on the Green Couch on Wednesday with State Minister Michaela Kaniber, Bavarian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry, and DI Josef Plank, Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism. They will be discussing the political framework conditions and the common challenges of the forestry and timber industry in Austria and Bavaria, wood as an indispensable raw material for a successful resources turnaround, and joint industry activities across national borders.
  • The forestry entrepreneurs associations from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, together with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Forst-Holz Papier Österreich (Forest-Wood-Paper Austria) will be dealing with the topic of education and on-the-job training. In addition to lots of free information and valuable tips, visitors have the possibility to try their hand at a harvester simulator. The objective is to inspire and motivate young people for the varied and state-of-the-art work in the forest.
